This is not dependent on "bugs" I don't know who built your house, but our flues are made out of brick or sheet metal. They are some strong, solid stuff.

In that case, people should be ready for whatever illness that might occur. They should have a diagnostic kit where ever they go so as to prevent any illness even flu.
