Nothing like work 2pm-11:30pm only go to a co-worker's Halloween party with your bf and he gets drunk off your ass leaving you there with NO ride to get home. Thanks a lot. No, I can't just spend the night there. I can't sleep in someone else's bed. Just my own.

So he gave me his keys to his new car, and I attempted to drive back to his house, but I got lost on the way. I ended up going over a very LONG bridge and I forgot that he did not fill the car up with gas. So, I'm running out of gas and freaking out if his car will just stop on the road at 3:45am. I attempted to call him for help, but guess what? That thing buzzing next to me was his phone. A lot of good that does me.

I pull in to a gas station thinking it's open. Nope, wrong again. I couldn't even figure out how to open the thingy to pump gas into it. Some people across the street came over to help me out and gave me directions.

What a f**kin night. Next time, we're driving separately. That way when he's ignoring me, I can just leave in my own f**kin car!!

Hosted a very fun Halloweenie party. A very good old friend arrived with a new Significant Other, who proceeded to be a very nasty, narky person who was the opposite of the kind of person you'd want at a party.

The SO is mad that they cannot have their own special bedroom with their own special bedtime, since my house only has 2 bedrooms and the spare was called by another couple months ago, and I am sending myself to bed because if I stay awake and deal with the whining SO I'll say something narky or nasty that I'll regret, so bedtime.

But why do people get territorial or mean?

Seriously? Please, tell me no one is having children because they're cute.
I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this but...people have babies for worse reasons.

A new person, someone you didn't know?
It's bad enough when friends are in a bad mood, but when a person you've not met before is like that, in your house.

I feel bad I can't put this in the What Made You Smile thread...but...

My Son and his wife are expecting now. I don't really trust his wife (I still believe she stole my grandmothers wedding rings).

She wanted to have a baby after my daughter got pregnant. She kept pushing for a baby and my son kept saying he didn't want one. He has only seen his nephew twice. Once when he was just born and two wks later when I went down to see them at home. He is so much like his father, not really into kids at all. He is still trying to get his life in order, he is going to get his CDL certification.

I suspect some trickery on her part. She is pretty dramatic, whiney and demanding.

I wish I was excited. :(

You know, when you see that little baby, you will be excited. Hopefully your son will be too.

I know you don't like your daughter-in-law, but she is the one your son picked and loves. Also remember, she will be the mother of your grandbaby. Maybe it's time to bury the hatchet (and not in her back :P )

As a mother, I sensed for a while he made a wrong choice, although we never talked about it. The dated a few times, mostly talked online while he was in Africa and proposed over the internet. We were all kind of shocked because none of us really knew her. They have almost split up a few times. Which as a mom, it worries me. Babies do not bring people together, but mostly into the fray.

Still, I know, as you said, it is his choice and his life. I will support them and pray that maybe my feelings are way off and maybe his own child will melt his heart just a little. (he is alot like his dad...so I have reservations on that).

And I do loves me some babies. Going to babysit for my grandson this week and spend the nite with daughter as her hubby is out of town for a week.

I probably should have. I really don't like confrontations, but after they left this morning, I realized she had somehow managed to seriously offend or tell off all of my + bf's friends AND somehow logged onto his computer and changed around a bunch of settings.

She told the nicest person alive to f**k off. She's not welcome in my house ever again.

Luckily, I'm pretty sure my friend was NOT IMPRESSED with her b***hiness and that probably spells the end of the relationship.

I like the person I share an office with. He's a nice enough chap.

However...it's 80 in here. EIGHTY. Degrees. INSIDE. It's actually dry enough that I've got a nose bleed and my throat is killing me.

I'm wondering if he's sick...usually 76 is warm enough.

Ugh. I've going home early, I think, even though I shouldn't.

I share an area with someone who is cold blooded. If she had her druthers, she would have it at 80. Not an option. It gives me a headache. I turn down the thermostat and she has her little rice bag thingy that she heats in the microwave to keep her warm.

Turn down the thermostat. He can put on a jacket.

Seconded. People can dress in layers if they're naturally cold blooded. For the rest of us, there's only so much you can take off.

It's not the thermostat, sadly. We have no control over that, so have space heaters (and fans) at our desks. My heater is off, his keeps kicking on.

Ugh.

Not always true. I cannot stand having cold air blowing on me. Usually the AC vents are in the ceiling and so it ends up blowing on my head which is THE worst. I usually keep my office at 80, which being the only one in it, the complaints are minimal. :OP

But jackets don't help if cold air is blowing on you from the top down.

Actually, there's one near by her as well. They taped a three-sided piece of cardboard over it to direct it away from her. :)

Seriously, if it gets too hot in here, I get a splitting headache. My boss doesn't seem to care though. He tries to jack it up also, so the AC doesn't come on. (he doesn't want it adding to the electric bill) I always turn it back down as soon as he leaves the room. There's another co-worker in here that can't deal with the heat either.

Define meat locker. The office in Wyoming would get down to 58. That's pretty darned chilly, and space heaters weren't permitted.

Here, coldest I've seen it is 65, and space heaters are approved as long as they meet specific requirements. Anything between 68 and 75 is workable, I have no problems putting on a sweater when I'm cold. But 80? That's sit-around-naked-with-my-feet-in-a-bucket-of-ice-water hot!

And I suspect that would not comply with the office dress code.

Hubby has the flu. He went home from work early today and is off tommorrow as well.

I can't risk going to watch the grandson. For all I know, I can be cooking the flu right now.
