reminded me of a time when we took our kids to a local amusement park. We got on a ride that turned out to be scarier than it looked. I kept telling my daughter to shut her eyes and she said that made it scarier. I tested it and decided she was right.

Alton Towers, a theme park over here in UKLand, used to have a ride called The Black Hole. It was a roller coaster run in complete darkness. It was really rather scary. I was convinced it was going to go under a low beam and take my head clean off.

At the arse end of the park they had the same ride without the cover on and open to the light and the elements. It was one of the world's lamest roller coasters.
