A bird dropping a piece of bread on a section of the LHC particle accelerator has shut down the whole operation. With freak accidents piling up at CERN, the idea of time traveling particles returning from the future to prevent their own discovery seems less like a sci-fi joke today. *Of course it could just be Zaphod Beeblebrox refueling the infinite improbability drive of the Heart of Gold.
