While interesting, this largely seems to be an argument about what the definition of 'cognition' is. As far as I understand it, that is. I think no one is going to deny that for example writing something down can aid the cognitive process. Whether that makes the notebook part of the cognitive process (extended mind) or an aid to the cognitive process, to me makes no difference at all.
